Freshman Orientation Programme(FOP). Tired. So much to do so little time. Early in the morning I reported there at 8.15. There was already chaos at the reception area. One whole chunk of people were milling about everwhere. There were people with School shirts walking around everwhere and shouting through loudhailers. Making lots of noise which did not help to direct students to their respective course orientation registration. By the time we found the queue, it had grown very long already.

We were tagged and brought to a small roped up area and asked to wait. Kinda like animal treatment already. Then we were brought to an large outdoor amphitheatre. Then we sat on cold, hard, uncomfortable metal chairs for an whole hour to get the projector working and for latecomers to arrive. From 8.30 till 9.30 we sat and waited and waited and waited. Finally when all the latecomers all arrived and the projector was fixed we had a extremely boring and long talk by several "facilitators". My butt was aching and I really wanted a break to strech my legs which fell asleep. We finally went for lunch break at 12.

After lunch we had lessons and hands on approach to Problem Based Learning(PBL). We were given a problem, delivery of some goods, and asked to solve it. We were to make a car that could travel the distance required and carry the most objects. My group won in the end. We shared our winnings with the class. The prize was a box of biscuits. I was like hoping for some of the nice mousepads the school had. Perhaps some othertime. Made some new friends from my group. Made friends with one of the student helpers. Quite friendly, told us tml would have better food than the mee hoon we had for lunch.
