The Children’s Day Haunting

Happy Children’s Day!! To all the big and small children out there! Ah, it has been a fun day!

The day before I was having misgivings about the amount of people I might have to serve. Now, I feel that the surge of people may have been to my advantage instead. I get to interact with more people and learn about crowd control.

I was sent to work in a haunted house today. I was thinking along the lines of scary, but after half a day there I think it is a good place to work. My job was to be a gate keeper. I play an introduction video and “persuade” guest to move along. The job is pretty fun when it comes to using “persuasion” skills, but my skills lack in comparison to the veterans who worked there. It was also funny if u considered where I was, when I came back from break and said “I have come to take over you.”

The guests were generally sporting, some were acted scared, some genuinely scared and some wet blankets. Apart from being flicked on the head, pushed by a guest and pinned to the wall I sustained no injuries. It was certainly amusing to see the boyfriends running behind the girls to take cover from some of the spooks. It is not fun to see a guest trying to gouge eyeballs out of the spooks and touching everything they see (when they are specifically told not to) and being pinned to the wall.

Well, it looks like I am going to need a clicker and a whistle too. I was hoping the management supplied one. That’s the end of this post! Peace out!
