Frost Palace

The frigid temperature chills me. I had just entered the Fuji Ice Palace; the temperature drop was very noticeable. The size of the ring and the low ceiling made me think this ring was perhaps smaller than the one at Sunway Pyramid. Bought gloves, purchased admission ticket, rented skates and we were set to skate.

One small thing, I had forgotten how to skate. The ring was indeed crowded today. I started off with scratching the ice and walking about. My skating skills surely paled in comparison to those skaters in the ring they were zooming here and there, zipping past people and weaving in and out. Later on I managed to recalled that I needed a rhythm to move and glide on ice.

I managed to finally establish a rhythm to allow me to pick up sufficient speed and glide a bit more easily. Only problem was that my balance was still not quite there. There had been several times I sent my weight, too much to the left, right or front, back. There were also several times I managed to do spins accidentally. These spins were not too graceful and were more of me losing my balance. I missed falling all except one time. I think I was still very affected by my surroundings, people come too close, and people fall down, people zooming past and the ice being not so smooth after all the scratches. I still place the blame on my skills (or lack of it) but I was still very affected by my surroundings as well.

Hmm, class is proceeding as usual. Problems are getting greater in magnitude. I am still getting lost. Today, I managed to finish all me quiz, evaluation and reflection journal all in quick succession before going skating. New anime tonight, its call Diamond Dust Drops still don’t know what it is about. I think watch, see and enjoy is the best recommendation.
