A Figurine to Win

Today, I went down to the Istana with my family minus the exception of my brother. There was a little complication at home which led to the delay of the departure time from home. When we reached the Istana gates, there was a along queue to go inside. Fortunately the queue moved quickly and we passed the scanning station quickly.
It was a humid day and while we were inside, dad bought us an Istana umbrella, cap and a small collar pin. I was pleasantly surprised to see such a big open space right in the middle of orchard road. The place was filled with small ponds, many hills and some golf terraces and of course the home of the Istana building.
Dad got us tickets into the building to see the first floor and some of the stuff that foreign dignitaries brought to Singapore. It was quite plain, and no, we did not see the president. After that, we went for lunch at Plaza Sing before going to the 3rd floor and letting mum get a refund for her pants. I got a new shirt! Yay!
Shortly after getting my shirt, I met up with Garnet for a trip round Orchard. Garnet has been rather busy lately and we don’t see each other much of late. So this labour day, we took the opportunity to go out! I enjoyed her company as we walked about window shopping.
We ended up giving each other a unique gift. A figurine, supposed to be each other. A small touch was added to make it more special. It was quite a nice present I would think. I went home tired and slightly worried for class the next day. It was a nice way to spend a holiday, with family and princess.
